Bad Romance : Book Review

Another take on - Bad Romance :

 

You can easily get the hint of the story line by looking at the cover design. The page quality is always superb from Gargi Publishers.

My verdict: The story revolves around the life of three persons, Kritika, Vikrant and Tanishq.

 

Kritika lands up in noida to fulfil her dreams of being a RJ and pursue engineering. In the course of fulfilling her dreams, she falls in love with Vikrant. At first, it goes all well, till Vikrant gets too possessive and just wants his lust to get fulfilled. Soon, the freedom of Kritika is snatched and she is forced to live in darkness. Tanishq, another guy with a not so good impression at first turns out to be her best friend in these lonely nights. Kritika falls in love with her best friend Tanishq even while being in a relationship with Vikrant.

The characterization is done quite well. As a reader it can be imagined and can be correlated. From the first chapter, Harshita has perfectly connected every character. The best part of the book is the descriptions of the intense love making scenes in a very perfect manner without crossing the limits and without offending the language. 

The story makes the readers hold on till the end to know what really happens to Kritika and is she able to come out of the mess or not. It manages to justify the title with the romance and the end part being sensitive.

Few grammatical errors and repetition of a paragraph are the major flaw of the book. The end part could have been better if the author would have ended by giving the whereabouts of the character.

 

Overall I would give 3.5 stars out of 5.

Cheer Up : Book Review

A short review of our title - Cheer Up. Read on:

This is a story of a young college girl Ishani and her friends. By reading this book, the readers will get inspired on how to face the difficult situations in our life and what to learn from the mistakes that we tend to do. The story is good and has lots of twists and turns at very proper places which gives us shock and surprises at many times in the course of the narrative. 

This book also highlights the importance of friends in our life, and also of some people who always remains in our heart. This book takes us to the journey of college life with its few happy, sad, surprising moments that add to the spice of the tale and makes this book a good read for sure.  I loved every page of it.

Bad Romance : Book Review

A short review on our title - Bad Romance -

This is a book with a perfect title and cover page. The story is good and keeps us engaged in reading but the lead character Kritika does the same mistakes again and again. The story travels through sad moments most of the time; this might lead to disappointment in the readers who like to read happy stories. I felt that some incidents could have been described in a much better way. 

Overall, the story is good and readers can learn from the mistakes of the protagonist. The book also has several proofreading errors at many places specially at the beginning of the first 3 chapters, which creates a lot of confusion but it can be ignored. All in all, I enjoyed the book.

Cheer Up : Book Review

Written by Ila Garg, published by Gargi Publishers and cover designed by Amol Karambe, is the book titled “Cheer up-the worst is yet to come”. The first impression you get, when you see the woman on the cover is that of a free soul, someone who aims to fly high in life, without letting herself to be shackled by the evil ways of the world. But the character of our main protagonist (Ishani) is anything but that. She is pretty, smart, confident, a go-getter; but somehow manages to keep messing up her life with every wrong decision she makes. She wants to break free from the clutches of an over protective, jealous and almost crazy boyfriend, but still clings on to him, all in the name of love.

Ila has beautifully managed to paint a perfect picture of a girl who does not mind being dominated and subjected to humiliation by her boyfriend. She hates it, but still cannot let go. She wants to break free, but still lets herself be tied down. She’s a girl who wears her heart on her sleeve, someone who can never intentionally hurt anyone, thus always ending up making the wrong choices, be it a lover, or friends.

Ishani’s emotions, her tumultuous state of mind, her pain, sorrow and the joys she finds in little things; have all been portrayed exceptionally well. Many a times during the story, you want to give her a tight slap across the face for being so naïve and needy. But that’s how her character is, and Ila has managed to showcase that very well. The infusion of poems in the middle just strengthens the story, bringing out Ishani’s deeply hidden emotions to the surface. The end, however, was slightly confusing and abrupt, and took a turn in a completely different, though a very happy direction.

All in all, Cheer up is an intricately woven, intriguing story which will take you through a roller-coaster of emotions, never once letting you get bored; ultimately managing to put a smile across your face. Ila is a wonderful writer, who knows how to weave magic with words, and she has surely done an amazing job with this one.
