INTERVIEW WITH RUCHI CHOPRA- BY NAINIKA GAUTAM

Ruchi is a homemaker by choice and freelance writer by passion. Writing gives her a creative space to express herself. She is passionate about nature, photography & musings on life. She loves to read anything which is interesting and worth learning from or deliberating about later on. She believes that “Life is choices and actions linked with sprinklings of fate and faith.” She is Indian by descent, based in Brecksville, Ohio, USA. She has past work experience in Broadcasting & Print Media in India. She has been contributing her articles and writings to various social networking websites, newspapers, magazines and documentaries.
She has written the title story for her first published anthology “Her Story: Is Not Always a Story”. Her upcoming anthology collections are “Blank Space”, “Heavenly Hymns”, “Poetic Symphonies- 2nd Duet Collection”, “31 Sins”, “Turning Point” and “Case files of the Dead”.

How would you like to introduce yourself?
Ruchi Chopra is a vagabond soul. She is a mother of two beautiful daughters who are her strength and pride. She hails from city of Nawabs “Lucknow”. At present she is based in Brecksville, Ohio, US with her lovely family.
She has worked previously with the reputed Broadcasting media groups & Print media. She has been volunteering for the American Red Cross nowadays, a kind courtesy for the community sharing & giveback. She is smitten with Music; Books; Travel, Movies; Nature and Photography.

After contributing in so many books, didn’t you feel you can write a book as well?
Yes! I have been contributing to various National & International Anthologies in past few months, now I feel ready to pen down my debut novel. Let’s hope for the best.

Being a homemaker, how do you manage time for writing?
As a mom of 2 vivacious kids, my feat is in multi-tasking! Writing is my passion and I write after my usual workday commitments, it’s same like “Me time” for me when I can write, watch movie, chat or engage myself in any hobby which makes me happy.

Where do you see yourself in future as a writer?
I live life as it comes. So I haven't set any fixed targets for my “future timeline” except to continue pursuing my passion for writing and take one step ahead on this journey. And keep learning from life odds choices and continue to feel inspired from reader’s accolades & adoration.

What according to you is strongest part of your writing?
I think my readers are the best persons to answer this question. But penning down poetry is my love & inspiration. Nothing gives me pure joy than reading beautiful verses and sharing my musings with the world.

Tell us briefly about your story in Moonlit Matinee 3.
My story in the Moonlit Matinee 3 “SMS Wars” revolves around relationship of a couple who have not yet mastered the art of communication but needs intervention emotively to bail each other miseries & to find love *reconnect each other via SMS/Text chat.

Do you believe that in today’s world where marriages and breakups are so common, a marriage can actually so love to last so long?
I believe there are no such things like perfect relationships; it’s from the various imperfections we all have to strive for something, which we can safely assume as- secure or committed relationship. If it’s not successful than there is no choice but to move on in life than ruminating over it again & again. Heartbreaks are common as Crushes are common too. Love is nothing but a beautiful expression shared between two people & to keep flame burning it takes two to tango!

Why do you feel your story deserves to be a part of this book?
Asit resonates well with the theme of the book series- “The Notebook of Romance”.

How did you come up with the plot?
The plot isinspired from the idea of our Hi-tech lifestyle. Everyday we all are on the various social media platforms & chat groups, rather than calling each other, we all text each other, in groups or personally. This has given me the idea for my story plot, to find the lost connection between my story central characters Ritesh & Aria via SMS/text chat.

What is the part of your story that you as an author enjoyed most?
I have put the cupid angel reference in this story & few lighter monologues of my main female character, Aria, which are rib tickling in its tones.

How is experience at Gargi Publishers?
My experience with Gargi Publishers is very pleasant. The team is very professional & deft in its approach. I wish them best of luck for their future projects.

What message would you like to give to our readers?
Live Life! Sharing one of my favorite Rumi Quote- “Don't be satisfied with stories, how things have gone with others. Unfold your own myth.” Cheers.
