Let us know more about her:

1) Is there a key person that has inspired you in the process of writing?

I’m inspired by many things and many people so cannot pinpoint to any one.

2) Describe the role books played in your own life?

Books help me escape into a fantasy world, oblivious to the ups and downs of the monotonous and busy lives that we lead.

3) Being a woman, what you want from the constitution of India for the safety of women?
Most importantly, the women need to have the courage to speak up when in trouble.  Also, a headstrong government and strict laws and lawmakers need to be in place. Such things should not be tolerated or ignored.

4) Any message which you will like to give to the readers via your story?

The message is very simple. Wake up woman, you don’t have to bear this brutality. Have the courage to get your voice out.

5) Any specific tips you have for new Authors who want to make it in the publishing Industry?

Even I’m new in the industry and still have a lot to learn. But it’s very important to keep following your dreams and never give up.

6) There are so many Anthologies around. Why to go for “CRUMPLED VOICES”?

I think it’s high time to acknowledge the fact that that there are a lot of women who are suffering. This anthology is a small but very powerful way of getting their voices heard, of making everyone aware.

7) What genre do you particularly like?

I'm a romantic by heart and I also love comedies. So a romcom would do the trick for me.

8) What are some things you like to do when you’re not writing?

I love listening to music.

9) What’s your take for the so many Rape cases pending and other social issues?

It's sad, really sad, and frightening too. Feels like no woman or girl is safe here. Hope things change for the better soon.

10) How is the experience with Gargi Publishers till now?

Absolutely fantastic. Luckily even got a chance to do an internship with them. Pulkit and Ila are great mentors and friends as well.

11) How does it feel being an author?

I get to write what I want, when I want and however I want. So, it’s really good.

12) What is your least favourite part of the writing process?

It would be the moment when you have a thought, but are just not able to find the right words or frame the perfect sentence.

THANKS SMITA FOR SPARING YOUR PRECIOUS TIME. I WISH YOUR BOOK GOES TO THE “BEST SELLER” LIST SOON. :)
