Cheer Up : Book Review

The cover design of the book is attractive, showing image of woman that just easily justifies the story line too. I must accept that the paper quality of the book is the best I have seen so far and has no comparison with some of bestselling novels.

  

MY VERDICT: It’s a book that perfectly describes the twist and the turns in a life of a girl, who always wanted to see her friends and everyone around her happy, no matter what it takes.

It’s a story of a girl named Ishani aka Ishq, who falls for a guy unknowingly. He become over possessive about her, creating troubles for her in the course of the relation. She tries her best to keep up the expectations of this new found love, but when it becomes a question of her self-respect, she gives up. It perfectly describes the problems faced by a girl when the other half just wants to exploit her and nothing else. It describes the second chances very well too. It shows the consequences of trusting a person too much. In that sense, Cheer Up is an eye opener! 

The dilemmas are well exposed and defined in the plot and the only drawback perhaps is abundance of characters. The author has still managed to present a flawless story in terms of language. The use of simple language and correct grammar is the USP of the book, something that will impress the Grammar Nazis out there!

Precisely, it’s a perfect story to motivate a person to start his/her life again no matter what has happened in the past or how many times he/she got hurt. It gives the courage to stand up again after having a great fall. It emphasizes your belief that no matter how much dark your past was, there is someone looking for you to envelope you in the new lights.

The book keeps the readers bound to Ishani’s life till the end.

From my personal point of view, the first poetry steals the show. The author has aptly penned down all the three poems which stand out in the book.

Few lines that I would like to quote from the book that inspired me a lot-

          “Bahut dur tak Jana padta hai,

            Sirf ye janne ke liye nazdik kaun hai”.

If you are a girl buy this book to know how to handle different situations of life and protect your self-respect.

And for boys, it’s a perfect gift to your female friends/girlfriends to let them know their worth :)
